Bake-Off!<\/div>\n<div class=\"event_description\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"event_description\">Bring your own picnic or grill-able lunch.<br \/>\n(No Alcohol at this venue.)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"event_description\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Our Site includes:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pavilion 24\u2019x52\u2019<\/li>\n<li>25 picnic tables, 1 large charcoal grill (must provide own grill tools and charcoal)<\/li>\n<li>One acre recreation field<\/li>\n<li>Running water at site ; No electric service<\/li>\n<li>Restrooms on site<\/li>\n<li>Parking for up to 100 autos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>The new site\u00a0in Hopkinton,\u00a0and the Norse theme of the SEF this year, gives us a wonderful opportunity to play fairly authentic pagan games.\u00a0 Saga literature is full of references to sporting games (leikar).\u00a0 The Games were important social events for the community, some lasting days, and took place whenever people came together for feasts, assemblies, or religious festivals.\u00a0 Sometimes, people were called together for leikmot (games meeting) for the sole purpose\u00a0of play.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Sufficient references survive for us to recreate many traditional games (minus the bloodshed).\u00a0 These games range from word games to a variation of the tug of war, offering everyone the opportunity to compete. If we have sufficient participation, we will return to having teams this year. so bring your friends.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"event\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>&#8212;&gt; Rules for the 2017 Lammas Bake-Off:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>1. This year\u2019s Bake Off Theme: <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Vegetable Quick Breads!<\/span>\u00a0 You decide which vegetable or vegetables will be the main ingredient(s) in you quick bread!<\/h4>\n<p>The item must be presented in the form of bread or muffins.\u00a0 They cannot contain yeast or chocolate.<\/p>\n<p>2. All entries must be made from scratch.<\/p>\n<p>3. Entrants must bring enough to have about 40 samples<br \/>\n(not full servings, just a taste &#8211; think sample tables).<\/p>\n<p>4. All entries must be accompanied by a full list of ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>5. The winner will be announced during the Closing Circle.<\/p>\n<p>Let the baking begin! Judges for the contest will be those attending the Faire; it will cost $1 to sample and vote.
