PFC Yule Nature Walk – 12/19/2021

Come join the SEF’s Pagan Family Connection for a COVID – safe Yule Nature Walk for all ages in Hudson MA, on Sunday, December 19th from 2:30 – 4 PM. Led by Cynthia Menard, a naturalist and the PFC’s new coordinator, we will explore how the natural world prepares for the long, cold, dark nights ahead.  While we walk through the gathering dark on Solstice eve, we will observe and discuss how humans also prepare for the coming winter, and how these two worlds connect and collide around the Solstice.

We will gather at the Assabet River Rail Trail lot, located at 147 Main St., Hudson, MA 01479. Bring warm clothes and warm, comfortable shoes for walking outside. Recommended donation is $5 per family.

Online Samhain 10/30/2020

Edited to add: Use the YouTube link here to watch the video directly at 7 pm EST.

We will be posting once again on on our new YouTube channel with a few ritual elements for you to participate in. Before the feed goes live at 7 pm EST, create sacred space where you are. Cast circle, call the quarters and the gods in if you feel moved to do so. We will proceed with the assumption that all of us are in our own circles. We will be connecting those circles in the ritual into our astral oak grove, like we did at Beltane, so that we will all be together as one group.

At this ritual, we will be honoring our Beloved Dead, by reading off a list of names as well as having an altar that will be viewed on-screen. If you would like to have your Beloved Dead honored in this way, please send the names of those whom you wish to have mentioned, no later than Sunday, October 25, 2020 to societyofelderfaithsma@gmail.com.

A Facebook event has been created, so if you’d like, join us here.

Online Beltane for All Ages – 05/02/20

We will be doing a live stream on on our new YouTube channel with a few ritual elements for you to participate in. Before the feed goes live at 2 pm EST, create sacred space where you are. Cast circle, call the quarters and the gods in if you feel moved to do so. We will proceed with the assumption that all of us are in our own circles when the live feed begins. We will be connecting those circles in the live feed into what is known as an astral temple, one that will remain standing even when the circles are open.

Also, have with you a pen or marker along with a piece of ribbon that is just long and wide enough for you to write down an intention on, and that can be tied on a tree branch, plant or object of your choice.

We’ll be doing cakes and wine together, so have a plate with enough cake and a chalice of your drink of choice with you.

Here is the direct link to the YouTube broadcast, beginning at 2 pm EST, Saturday May 2.

Teen and Tween Esbat Group – 3/14/20

The Tween and Teen Esbat group will meet for our public ritual on Saturday the 14th of March at 6pm. The group meets at the Unitarian Church of Marlboro and Hudson, located at 80 Main St., Hudson, MA. $5 suggested donation.

A small pot luck will follow ritual. Because we meet at a traditional dinner time, making sure you and your kids have a little snack before you arrive is a good idea. Please no soda, nuts, peanuts, or candy. Bring a cold dish or something in a crock pot.
This public event is open to families with children aged 10 to 18 who are interested in taking part in rituals. Many of the teens and tweens who participate take turns as the high priest or priestess of the evening, working with one of the adults running the group.

Open Adult Imbolc Ritual – 1/31/20

Join the Society of Elder Faiths and Moon Circle for an open adult Imbolc ritual to celebrate the return of longer days and shorter nights, even as we make our way through snow and slush. Imbolc is a time of promises to come from the Earth—the promise of light, the promise of warmth, the promise of growth, and through growth, sustenance. This year’s Imbolc will be celebrated with an Egyptian execration. Doors open at 6; doors will close and the pre-ritual discussion will begin at 7pm. There will be a potluck supper following the ritual so please bring a dish to share. We’ll supply cups, plates, eating utensils and beverages. All adults are welcome, no experience is necessary.
